Intuition and the Osteopath
We live in a world of information. Each day brings more information. Yet a walk in the woods is still a walk in the woods. We consume more and more information, yet we feel powerless, confused and anxious. It feels like we live under a microscope and are expected to understand everything under the microscope all at once.
Behaviour is judged more than ever, yet we're expected to show compassion. We live in a yin-yang world that looks more like hypocrisy than growth. Welcome to “waking up”. It’s messy, confusing, exciting, fun and stressful, all wrapped up in one.
Some days we are connected, happy, content and other days we fear the worst is ahead of us. We live in a world that is more comfortable than our ancestors, yet we are unhappy and scared of our futures. The number one way to block your intuition: “be afraid.” Fear, Self-doubt, and lack of belief in your innermost power.
What does this have to do with the Osteopath and Intuition? Osteopathy was built on the marriage of intuition and biology. Yet today, it’s taught more like a robot of the future. Life in fear while being expected to perform miracles.
It takes years and years to develop astute intuition, and very few new therapists understand the importance of a mentor and personal self-growth and development. Massage therapy graduates come out with what seems like a brain full of knowledge, yet they are only given one technique. Manual osteopaths graduate with a ton of techniques but no foundation on how to use them.
Massage Therapists tend to have the best intuition when it comes to therapy because they are forced to use it. They must let their curiosity guide them when choosing which skills to expand. They have a plethora of time to practice their touch because Swedish massage is simple and repetitive. Manual Osteopaths have so many techniques that overwhelm them and leave no room for creativity.
The bridge between Intuition and Biology lies in the patient, and not in your worth as a therapist.
The art of intuition blends accumulated knowledge, muscle memory, and astute observation with trust in how the information is presented and what you should do with it. KMO+TA=I
Knowledge, Memory, Observation + Trust and Action= Intuition
There are so many different ways to use intuitive reading skills; it’s not just for talking to dead people. An osteopath must use intuition, or the techniques they learn will be limited to basic knowledge. When the Osteoapth does not develop the skill of observation, frustration about “where to start” takes over their mind. Clients seek out talented osteopaths when nothing else works because other practitioners do not know how to listen to the body. The secret to listening lies within the fascial network.
Fascia as Intuition
Fascia is our sensory organ of intuition. It holds the memories our minds try to forget. When we learn to stop fighting our pain and instead 'listen' to the tissue with neutral curiosity, we can trace our physical knots directly to the emotional and ancestral frequencies holding them in place. Healing isn't about crushing the tissue; it's about changing the conversation.
Deep healing is never a mechanical trick; it is an act of deep resonance where the therapist’s own level of consciousness becomes the ultimate clinical tool. Intuition is a five-dimensional pathway of automatic understanding—information picked up by the liquid-crystalline antenna of our fascia and brought directly into our conscious awareness via the nervous system. If a practitioner resists or hides from their own emotional shadows, their body becomes a blocked tuning fork, and the patient’s defensive system instantly senses that lack of safety and locks down. However, when we do the deep, courageous work to unwind our own personal and ancestral trauma, our presence shifts into a frequency of absolute safety and Neutrality (250 Hz), allowing our regulated nervous system to act as a mirror that invites the patient’s tissues to safely drop their guard, open their vaults, and finally let go of what no longer serves them.
There are many ways to develop intuition, but the best is fully integrated with deep self-development. Each of us is on our own unique self-growth and waking-up path, and that evolution cannot be bypassed. If your intentions aren't fully aligned with your life purpose or inner growth, the ego's defensive armour will step in and prevent your intuition from growing. True intuitive sensing requires us to step beyond the ego's need for control, meaning your capacity to read the subtle, multi-dimensional information in another person's tissue is directly limited by your willingness to courageously face, accept, and unwind the truths within your own.
Pay attention to your intuitive abilities and self-healing connections; they are the exact roadmap leading you back to your inherent, pain-free state of wholeness.
